This site is run by a sole proprietor based in Saitama, Japan, under the name Internet in Japan editorial team. Contact: s09977977@gmail.com
I also run Japanese-language comparison sites in the same field. This one exists because the questions foreign residents ask are not the questions Japanese-language sites answer.
Where the information comes from
Prices, speeds and contract terms are taken from each provider's published information and checked before publication. Campaign conditions change often, so the provider's own site is always the authority. Where our page and their page disagree, believe theirs.
Language support is recorded as what the provider states it offers. If you find it does not match your experience, tell us and we will correct the page.
How the site makes money
The English and Vietnamese pages have no affiliate links. The Japanese pages have affiliate links (through A8.net) for four of the providers listed here. If someone signs up through one of those, the provider pays us a commission. What you pay is the same either way.
This site compares six providers. Four (GMO Tokutoku BB Hikari, docomo Hikari, au Hikari and SoftBank Hikari) are affiliate partners on the Japanese pages; two (GTN Home Internet and Sakura Fiber Internet) are not, and links to them are ordinary links to their official sites. On the English and Vietnamese pages, all six are in one table, sorted by language support and then by price; affiliate status does not affect the order. We use the same comparison items and the same standard of sources for every provider. Check dates are shown for each provider in the last column of the table. It is not a survey of every internet provider you can sign up with in Japan.
